As the foremost 22-foot boat on the market, the 2025 Malibu Wakesetter 22 MXZ fuses aggression, power, and innovation into an irresistible package that truly maximizes space and performance with its pitchfork bow.

Boasting an overall length of 22 feet, the 22 MXZ seats up to 15 people, weighs 5,900 lbs and has a fuel capacity of 58 gallons. Including Power Wedge® III, the 22 MXZ boasts a total ballast of 4,168 lbs.

As the most spacious 24-foot boat in the industry, the 2025 Malibu Wakesetter 24 MXZ delivers an unforgettable on-the-water experience, loaded with all of the comfort and entertainment you could ever want, for up to seventeen people. 

With an overall length of 24.5 feet, the 24 MXZ weighs 6,600 lbs and has a fuel capacity of 83 gallons. Including Power Wedge III, the 24 MXZ offers a total ballast of 4,638 lbs.

The Bow: Spacious and Flexible

The famous pickle fork bow on both vessels is the definition of Malibu’s MXZ mantra, fully maximizing the space available for guests. All-round seating turns the bow into a flexible, spacious playpen, allowing your guests to face either forward or backward.  The bow seats feature a fold-down armrest to allow passengers to stretch out and enjoy the view. Buyers can also opt for Malibu’s Natalie seat, which creates a backrest for the middle bow seat and is a useful windbreak for the rest of the boat.

The bow in both boats has been designed to ensure that all of the boat’s amenities and social spaces are equally accessible to those seated within it. Meanwhile, plenty of cup and phone holders are available in the bow to keep drinks and phones close at hand. 

The Lounge: Luxury and Convenience

The lounge area on the 22 MXZ and the 24 MXZ is packed with the kinds of comfort, convenience, and luxury that Malibu boats are famous for. 

When it’s time for your friends to ride, the lounge area can quickly transition into stadium style seating for water sports, complete with convenient pop-up rear-facing seating. This ensures that everyone onboard has a front-row seat to the action behind the boat. For even more flexibility, buyers can opt for Malibu’s innovative Max-Pivot™ seat which transforms in seconds from a bench seat, into a rear-facing seat, a sun bed, or a table.

The big news at the helm of both boats is the all-new Malibu Command Center™. This impressive new system puts all of the boat’s information and controls at your fingertips, allowing the driver to easily keep an eye on important data or conveniently make changes to the wake or wave profile behind the boat. 

The new Malibu Command Center features two new ultra-high-pixel-density touchscreen displays that are brighter and more detailed than our previous design and offer ideal visibility in both very low light conditions and in direct sunlight. 

The ultra-wide touchscreen display now spans 15.8”, delivering immersive viewing without compromising the captain’s forward line of sight. The secondary 7” touchscreen display provides quick access to deeper functionality. It allows you to customize the lounge of your Malibu including comfort and convenience features, the music, and the lighting - both RGB and main lights.

Both screens display spectacular new animated graphics thanks to a new, faster processor. They have been engineered for the demanding marine environment, benefitting from the durability and reliability of IP67 waterproofing. 

Navigation is also now included in the Command Center, for that extra peace of mind that comes with always knowing exactly where you are and how to return to the dock.

G10+ Tower

Both the 22 MXZ and 24 MXZ can be specified with Malibu’s new G10+ tower. First introduced on 2024 models, the G10+ Tower is packed with technology and features designed to make both the onboard and riding experience unforgettable. 

The tower includes built-in RGB lighting controlled from the Command Center. Along with the RGB lighting in the bow and lounge, this allows you to create a personalized mood on board or even to sync your lighting with your music for the ultimate party platform. 

Several overhead lights are included in the G10+, illuminating the lounge as you stow your gear at the end of the day. Optional tower misters ensure everyone is cooled down even on the hottest days. 

The G10+ features Malibu’s fully electric power tower functionality, ensuring that it can be quickly folded down with the turn of a dial, allowing the boat to effortlessly pass under low bridges or for easy storage in a boathouse or garage.

All-new for 2025, Malibu now offers Wet Sounds Rev 8 or 12 Tower Speakers. Buyers who opt for Rev 12 speakers can also look forward to multi-sync RGB lighting exclusively to Rev 12 speakers, bringing unprecedented volume and sound quality to your on-water experience. Rev 8 speaker buyers can choose to have either black or white speaker housings. Either way, G10+ Tower buyers can select from a comprehensive non-metallic color selection for the tower to ensure that it matches their boat’s exterior.

The Transom: Unrivaled Water Access

The transom on both the 22 MXZ and 24 MXZ is packed with Malibu’s thoughtful design and influenced by decades of customer feedback. The two seats on the transom offer a comfortable spot to relax or while preparing to ride. 

The swim platform on both boats includes Malibu’s Soft Grip decking, making for a comfortable pause while preparing for your ride, or before diving in for a refreshing swim. Convenient flip-down swim steps make reboarding accessible and easy for anyone onboard.

For 2025, the transom on the 24 MXZ can be upgraded with optional Sundeck Loungers. These transom loungers can be configured to be forward or rear-facing and are the perfect spot to relax after a swim or to enjoy the sunset.  

Engines: High-Performance & Reliability

Both boats are powered by Malibu’s Monsoon engines. Built in-house at the Malibu factory, the Monsoon engines are famous for their performance, durability, fuel economy, and sound reduction.

A choice of either a Malibu Monsoon M5Di or M6Di Engine powers the 22 MXZ. Combined with the standard 17” prop, these powerplants ensure that the 22 MXZ has no problem getting up on plane quickly and reliably delivering the wakes and waves that Malibu is known for.

At the heart of the 24 MXZ is the Malibu Monsoon M6Di engine. The range of Monsoon engines has been uniquely designed with their essential components moved towards the front of the engine, making them more accessible for hassle-free maintenance while offering a quieter ride and improved durability. The M6Di is also combined with a 17” prop, ensuring that the 24 MXZ delivers the best possible wakes and waves that Malibu buyers expect.
